An amusing mistake on the BBC sports website minute by minute commentary means that it looks like Arsenal won six nil and Reyes scored three times in the space of a second...
Ljungberg is looking good. Well, Ljungberg always looks good, but Ljungberg is also playing well, which is nice.
And my brother said to me: 'I hate you, you know, because now I keep catching myself looking for the gay subtext in player interviews. And worse than that I keep finding it...'
I'll make a slasher of him yet. (On the day that he persuades me I'd rather watch Brazil win than Rep of Ireland lose).

And that will be a cold day in hell I assume:) Yippee for a decisive AFC triumph after the mid-week fisticuffs. Maybe we should have coach-based fracas-es (?) every week although Monsieur dismissed it as "rien" and made scathing remarks about Norwegian police being autograph hunters. And your brother? Soon he will realise that football is more or less ALL gay subtext, you just need your slash goggles and your slash headphones on:)

How could one want to see Ireland lose? The very thought eludes me.

Hmm, that came out wrong. I mean... I enjoy watching Rep of Ireland more, even if they lose, than Brazil, even if they win by a lot. Rep of Ireland are a fabulous and human team to watch whereas Brazil are all skill and no soul. In my opinion.

They have France away next and I am a bit nervous for that game. They'll need all their team spirit and some skill as well.

Too true. *crosses fingers*. Because of course watching RoI win is even more fun still.
France are never as good a team as I think they're going to be. *crosses fingers some more*

except for that whole World Cup 1998/Euro 2000 thing. But Patrick Viera is suspended. Which could be a good thing for RoI
