Well, the Bikey moment after Owen's goal was a relief, after almost an entire season of not looking at each other. Which is just about all you can say for it really.

People I feel sorry for:

Mikey. Just after he looked like he was finding his form.
Rooney. What a way to end the tornament.
Campbell. Because it was a goal, dammit. And he looked like he was crying with his head in Beckham's chest for a moment there at the end.
Vassel. Because there's nothing like a missed penalty.

People I'm annoyed with:

The Ref. For giving a free kick AGAINST Rooney after that injury.
Becks. Not for the missed penalty, just for the faulty work ethic and the lack of any kind of leadership. I just dunno what's come over him, he's been a total disaster all tournament. The missed penalty kinda topped it all off, but wasn't his fault as such.
The Ref. Cos it was a goal, dammit.
James. Not for any particular reason. I'm not blaming him. He just irritated me, mostly for not letting people help him on the goal line all match, which made me really tense even though we didn't conceed from that.
And did I mention, the Ref? For being a total pillock.

I don't usually blame the Ref, honest. But for god's sake.

People I'm proud of:

Campbell, for getting up and playing on after the goal which WAS a goal, dammit.
Mikey, for not crumbling when the pressure was on, and also for talking Rooney off the pitch when he was trying to be stupid and try to play on.

So. That's that for another two years.

*agrees vehemently* my man of the match. And I'm a mad bastard Owen worshipper.

To be honest, that's my one consolation, that him and Sol played brilliantly.

Right...bring on August 14th.

Gyargh, meant to mention Cole. But not thinking in straight lines.
Mostly for that goal line clearence, although also for containing Ronaldo and being the closest thing we had to an attacking force in midfield despite being the left back.
And if Cole was "man-of-the-match", then Campbell was "man-of-the-tournament-(other-than-Rooney)" cos I don't think he put a single foot wrong in any game. Him and Ashley made it for me too.
Dontcha just love being an Arsenal fan?

Campbell was brilliant. IMO we have the best left back and one of the best center-backs in Europe. He gave Ronaldo no slack, no time, nothing. Step over Ashley Cole's challenges, you fucking showpony cunt.

As I said to your Liverpool supporting friend above, roll on August and Everton away.

how Sol has the dignity not to hit someone after having two good winning goals disallowed for England (this and Argentina) I'll never know...

And yes, bring on the season!

My mum and brother kept whimpering about not having the guts to watch extra time and I was like 'you lightweights! I do this twice a week, ten months out of every year!'

yes, just for the record, Ashley was brilliant.

And he looked like he was crying with his head in Beckham's chest for a moment there at the end.

It was Vassell who did that, I believe. Very touching.

And ditto to every bad word about that ref, which is...not like me at all either, I guess.

Vassel actually did it. Campbell just looked like he was. They hugged, between when Becks had his arm around Vassel and when Campbell did, and Campbell leant down to Becks' level, rather than the usual bear hug. But I haven't been able to find a pic.

This is a stinky week. Stinky Wimbledon rain, stinky elections, and stinky ref. Grr.

I am sorry, really. Though I am going to have to admit to an amount of relief, not because you lost, but because the noise of the yobs in the street is getting too much.
I am sorry they are footy fans, they give y'all a bad name...

And apparently king-of-the-off-the-line-clearances, aka Ashley Cole, doesn't know how to defend *rolls eyes*
