Have deleted Russian Sausage meme on advice from someone on my flist who pointed me at this link - I still think it's likely to be harmless, but there's no sense in following stupidity with carelessness...

The only way I can see that it could actually cause problems is if you had your login options set to Expiration: Never, and Bind to IP address: No. Then I think that someone gaining access to the cookie that stores the login information may be able to use it on their computer to gain access.

In no case should they be able to get the actual password, unless livejournal is *very* insecure, in which case you would have larger worries.

If you look at the LJ of the first person on the list, you find he is the one who set it up, and has now done an English translation.

Still, better to be safe than sorry, as they say...

Yeah, I gathered that it was almost certainly actually harmless, but like you said, better safe than sorry.
