I am hugely pleased with the hat I just got for doing the Topsy Turvey photocopying - it's an England hat with viking horns, which just appeals on soooo many levels. My viking is refusing to wear it, but he did that with the Santa hat originally too, so best of luck to him. AND my dad will disapprove cos of the whole jingoistic overtones thing and there's nothing I like more than winding up my dad. Like I said, appeals on many levels.

Spent most of the afternoon revising Anglo Saxon in the accident and emergency department of the John Radcliffe, on account of Matt broke his hand last week and hadn't managed to do anything about it yet, and wanted some company. Suspect I will have to go back with him tomorrow on account of he wouldn't let them set it immediately cos he insisted he needed to be back in time to sing the chaple service. Still, got a lot of revision done. Revising poetry all about vikings hacking each other to bits with swords and spears in the A and E department struck me as faintly ironic, especially since the last time I spent an evening in A and E I was specifically reading Wilfred Owen and Seigfried Sassoon war poetry. Bloodthirsty? Moi?

This was followed by an enjoyable evening of geekery and chocolate-related-foodstuffs, in which I absolutely definately did not proove my bloodthirstyness by reducing [community profile] synergetic and [profile] fu_manchu12 to hysterics in the St John's TV room. Nope. Not at all.

Oh, you didn't get mugged then? Excellent, I can stop feeling guilty.

Glad you liked the hat. It sort of said "Jessie" to us. In the same way that the corked hat said "Amy" to us, though I've still no idea why.

Dare I ask what silly hat you would have bought for yourself, given the choice?

Personally I think you looked lovely as Ed Hood :)

Thank you. I might have got that for myself, if Chris' need hadn't been greater than mine. Or possibly a Roman helmet - I think they had one.

Now I have a mental image of you in gladiator costume. You look rather uncomfortable and embarrassed, but have surprisingly good legs.

Er...thank you. 'Surprisingly' good legs?

Hmm. "My name is Eduardus Jacobus Viridis. Husband to a murdered wife, father to a murdered son, and I will have my vengeance - in this life or the next."

And I'm Chris.

To add yet more enthusiasm on the amusing hat front, many thanks for mine. I have been shooting arrows at passing pedestrians for most of the morning.

Well, not... shooting arrows, as such. More... throwing bread.

Well, actually, no.
