An overturn to the hideous DLA reforms is being proposed in the House of Commons as an EDM (Early Day Motion): http://thebrokenofbritain.blogspot.com/2011/01/early-day-motion-on-disability-living.html
This is a huge step forwards to having our concerns taken seriously. If you believe that the changes to DLA are unfair, please please click the link above write to your MP and ask them to sign the ammendment. (http://www.theyworkforyou.com)
(If you do not believe that changes to DLA are unfair, try reading this: http://thetopsoil.org.uk/2011/62

Even if you believe that cuts should occur, surely, surely these are not the people we should be targeting. Surely these are people that we should be protecting. )

Date: 2011-01-25 07:08 pm (UTC)I've written to Mike Weatherly, MP for Hove and Portslade; and asked for a response on this, and propogated. I'm afraid that I stole the text of this post for a chunk of the letter to him, as it sums up better than I ever could.

*In fact-checking this, I came across the wonderful rule that in an EDM, "no unparliamentary language or irony should be used." -- parliament.uk on EDMs
