Gacked from [personal profile] opportune. Writing them down, I realise that I've gained more nicknames/mistaken identities etc accross the years than is strictly reasonable.

If you call me anotherusedpage you know me from LJ
1 - If you call me Random you know me from ff.net, opengoal or the first incarnation of the condensation.
2 - If you call be bewareoftheviking or ragged robin, you know me off a yahoo group, or MSN.
3 - If you call me ballet dancer of death, you know me off ezboard, which means you are Imo, Izi, Rosie, Mri, Adam Scammell, Heeran or George.
4 - If you call me Jessie, I either know you in RL or have known you on LJ for ages.
5 - If you call me Jess you are could be anyone who knows me really, but if you're an RL friend then you're not at Magdalen, unless you are Sarah, Adam or Amy, or Robert and Elisabeth.
6 - If you call me Bogroll, you are either Terri, Imo, Rosie, Hannah or my dad.
7 - If you call me Essie, you are either Rosie, or my brother or sister.
8 - If you call me Encyclopaedia, encyclopaedia-head or any variation on a theme thereof, then I knew you and disliked you at primary school.
9 - If you call me Angel, Angel-girl or any variation on a theme, then I knew you at Hornsey, and unless you are Terri I disliked you too.
10 - If you call me J, D, or DJ or JD, you are Terri. And you're starting to get on my nerves by this point.
11 - If you call me Adina, you are probably either Gila or Adam Scammell, although you could be almost any of my RL friends except the G and S people.
12 - If you call me Adi, ditto, although you could also have picked that one up from Henneth-Annun.net or OFUM, if you'd really been paying attention.
13 - If you call me Jessica, you get growled at. Unless you happen to be George Allagiah, Boris Johnson or Phillip Pullman. Or the woman who owned the corner shop on Hermitage Road.
14 - If you call me Jessica Spike, or Spike, Spikey etc, you are probably my mum, my dad or my cousin, and you're almost certainly trying to wind me up.
15 - If remember when you called me either Beggie or Hawthorne, you are Imo.
16 - If you (still) call me Lion-o then you're either my cousin or Sarah Kennedy, and you knew me when I was small and thought I was a thunder-cat.
17 - If you (still) call me Josephine, then you are G and S Mike. And you ought to learn my real name.
18 - If you call me Lucy, then you are David Lawrence's wife who directed Beggars Opera and I've forgotten your name too so can no longer complain about the fact that you never knew mine.
19 - If you call me Imo, then you are one of the many people at FCMG and CEFC who doesn't know which of us is which.
20 - If you call me Rosie or Miranda, you are one of the many people at CEFC who doesn't know which of us is which.
21 - If you call me Clare, then you are one of the many random people at FCMG who thought that I was Grace's younger sister.
22 - If you call me Liz Gloin, then you are one of the many very unobservant Latymer Chamber Choir tenors.
23 - If you call me Jessie Rance, then you either work for my dad's employers, or Lambeth county council, or various charity organisations.
24 - If you call me Ms J Holder, then you've probably got me confused with my mother.

The cool thing about you playing Josephine was that I could just write J in my blocking directions, and I'd know which cast member I meant. Though I never could decide whether to call you all by real names or character names during rehearsals.

I've never minded being called by character name during blocking, but there's a difference between that and never learning someone's real name, which several directers have done to me before.
Probably the most irritating occasion was when I was a swing for Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, ie I was supposed to learn all the chorus parts and play them when needed, cos it was a nine month run. The different parts were named after the people who had blocked them originally, and the one I understudied most often was another girl from my choir called Laura. And instead of learning my name, everyone would just call whichever of us was there Laura... it drove me up the wall.

Argh, how very annoying. Was it not confusing, having to know so many different parts? I'd have constantly been trying not to switch, like when I'm playing tenor recorder, and go onto a new line of music and realise I'm playing treble fingering.

Muchos confusing. Fortunately almost all the dancing was identical between the parts. But I had to remember exactly who sang what part in which song. It ranged between two and seven part harmony, and I had to learn all the different lines of all the pieces, and remember which combinations people sang them in. The blocking was written out in the production notes, so you could check what you were supposed to be doing, and which scenes you were actually in, but no one had a note of the music except me and the other swing. But on the plus side, I didn't get bored with doing exactly the same thing part three times a week for nine months.
And tenor is my favourite recorder to play, cos treble fingering confuses me and descants are too squeaky. I got to play recorder when covering for some of the people in Brodie too, any of the people that were in the school-orchestra scene - which did ocassionally mean having to transpose clarinet music in my head back to the proper key. Now THAT was confusing.
