Right. I'm back from South Africa now, and fully contactable. Had an absolutely amazing time, which I will write up in full at some point in the very near future.

I'm a bit in limbo for the moment, though. I don't know when my job is going to start. I've got auditions for Birkbeck places later this week. I've got a shedload of random paperwork and admin to catch up on...

So, I'll probably still be fairly absent from LJ land for the next coupla days til I sort myself out.

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself in the Motherland. It's a beautiful country and it's a pity how it and the people there suffer. I don't s'pose you made it through PE?

I started in Jo'burg, then Grahamstown, then down the Garden Route to Cape Town, stopping in various Afrikaner tourist towns on the way...

Port Elizabeth, one of tyhe places I call home. If you went through Grahamstown (didya visit the Camera Obscura and the cool little museum?) and down the Garden Route you must have passed quite close to it since it marks one end of it.
