I can't actually read Gawain. The dialect is almost as hard as anglo-saxon and I can't find a proper dictionary. It's taken my far longer than I thought it was going to, and therefore I've got through less of Morte Darthur than I meant to.

But I am at least amusing myself because I keep trying to write Legolas in my essay instead of Launcelot. The fact that I'm writing about 'the feminizing of Launcelot' thus become even more funny. I have this idea in my head for a comparative essay between the feminizing treatment of Legolas in slash fiction and Launcelot in the Morte Darthur that's never actually going to get written...

Also, I would really love to see some fan art of the gorgeously slashy bits in Gawain and the Green Knight, where Gawain kisses the knight full on the lips in payment for having kissed his wife. Again, it doesn't exist and it probably never will. But it should. So there.
