Things. Stuff.
Aug. 16th, 2004 12:10 amMy mother just made a derogetory comment about the number of pictures of footballers touching each other's bums I had all over my friend's page. *blush*
In other news, today went to Camden with
awroe and
opportunemoment. And then round the Saatchi gallery with
awroe. This was all muchly fun.
Strangely, the stuff I remember most clearly from the gallery I don't think was the stuff that impressed me the most. I'm remebering mostly the famous and slightly pointless stuff, like Hirst's sheep and Emin's bed, and what's-his-name's head made of his own blood, when there was other, and better, stuff in the gallery. I don't even remember the names of the artists who did my favourite exibitions - the one with the moving light and shadows that was supposed to represent string theory and made my heart pound just walking into the room, the kind of emotional reaction I usually only get off music... and the entire room dedicated to a fictional child artist, her life story and eventual strange dissapearence, with fake news cuttings and stuff, which was a very clever look at the nature of evidence and perception, as well as having some extremely well drawn and observed pictures. And some of the ones that were just plain funny, like the couple of random statues which you thought were real people until you realised they weren't moving, or the office scene set up in a fish tank, with living fish. Glad
awroe was prepared to take all this in a similar way to me - to discuss it, and laugh at/with it, and think about it... it was good fun.
