I did a thing today that I've never done ever before.
I wrote some notes and then turned them into an essay.
I'd overslept, and I had nothing to say about the essay topic that I hadn't already said before in a previous essay, and I had far too little time to do it in and I was starting to get panicky.
And then I remember that tutor is experimenting with a paired tutorials thing where we're allowed to slack off every other week, and that I read my essay last week so this week was tute partner's turn, so I could turn up with only notes if I wanted to...
So I started to make notes.
And? And they did the thing that notes are supposed to do but never usually do for me of organising my thoughts into a coherent form which I could then write out in complete sentences in the form of an essay. It took me half the time it would normally take, it has a structure that actually makes sense rather than just being me spewing my thoughts, and I did it all without panickstresswoedoom.
And this is really something of an acheivement.
And it's only taken me three years to get the hang of this *sigh* but on the plus side it's in time to be useful for revision. I'm going to be able to actually make essay plans to revise from and everything, I think.
Because, suddenly, I get it. I understand.
And, ok, so this makes me feel like something of a fraud for having pretended that I knew how to do this for the past three years when really all I was doing was ranting with style. But still.
