My brother's hair has grown while I was away. It's now about the length mine was immediately after Amy cut it in the summer - ie very nearly but not quite long enough to be tied back. Today he asked me to put it up in a half ponytale for him, David-Beckham style. I laughed at him muchly, and then gave it a try, and blow me it bloody suited him. As do the sideburns he's grown. Although if he just tries to tie it back in a pony tale then the short bits at the front all come out and he ends up looking like Angel when he's being all Irish and silly-haired in flashbacks. We sang mozart duets - whoowee for singing teacher, I can now sing top Bs in places which aren't safe-spaces - it used to be that if I was scared or uncomfortable - which thank fuck I don't get while performing, really - my throat would just tighten and I physically wouldn't be able to get out a sound. Now I can consciously loosen those muscles that are usually not under conscious control. Ummm. I think I was in the middle of saying something else - oh yeah, we sang Mozart duets, and then jammed for a bit, and it was good fun.

But he's been bunking school again. He bunked an exam last week - only an internal exam, but still. He's a silly boy and he's rowing with my parents and there's a lot of shouting.

In other Back Home news, my small autistic-spectrum cousin is finally in the process of actually getting a diagnosis of autism-spectrum, and I think my mother's going to quit her job. My dad forgot to buy the cheap tickets to Les Mis he promised me and my sister, and they ran out before I could remind him, about which I'm only sulking a little bit.

Anything else? Not that I can think of.

My notes for fic for advent are on my uni computer. Which is a laptop and here in London, but I have to do lots of sorting out, finding the correct cables, cleaning out the chache, removing viruses from quaranteen in the temp files etc before I can plug it into the home network and use it here. I'm going to have to do this in the next couple of days because while I remember a fair amount of what I was planning on doing, most of what I remember is long and complicated stuff that I'm working on for later in the month rather than things I can rattle off ready to post.

I know what today's fic is going to be. Tomorrow's fic I'm a little bit more stuck with.

And I need to get on with writing my yuletide fic. Which I can't get at at all until I sort out my laptop.

In other news, I got a digital camera for my birthday! Jumpy jumpy jumpy squeeeee. Think my dad got it free off his company - in fact, I've got this suspicion that it was another comitted service award thingy, like the stupid clock we've got up in the living room that chimes the hour and has a swinging pendulum just for the look of it which runs on a batery. We call it Bingly-bongly-beep after the organiser imp in Terry Pratchett. Yes, I name my clock as well as my bread-knives. I've never yet named my computer. Not quite sure why.

Which reminds me: why recording in the Magdalen chaple sucks )

And in threeee days I get to go see [personal profile] opportunemoment.

Right. I'm going to go write things. Yes.

Warning for… hmmm. How does one classify different levels of slashyness? There’s m/m interaction, but it’s homosocial rather than homosexual. Rating - G
